Make Your Own Custom Printed Bags!

One of my awesome customers sent me photos of what she did with some X-Large White Merchandise Bags she bought from my Etsy shop recently. She printed her logo on them and packages her orders in them! Why didn't I think of that? The bags are 8 1/2" x 11" and work perfectly! So I tried it out for myself and I love how they look! I printed my logo on both the White Bags and Kraft Bags. I wasn't able to put them directly in the paper tray, so I fed them through the manual feed tray. I wish they fit in the tray so I could print them quicker and package all my orders in them! So next time you're in need of some custom printed bags, it can be a DIY project!

Yummy Cake Pops

So I've tried cake pops before....you know the ones that are made by crumbling a whole cake and mixing the crumbs with a ton of frosting so you can form balls.  I've never liked them, way too sweet for me!  Well I found a cake pop maker recently that would allow me to make cake pops without the frosting!  It looks like a waffle maker, but it forms perfect little round cake balls.  They were really easy to make, just a little time consuming!  Okay, VERY time consuming!  For these cake pops, I just used a boxed chocolate cake mix.  I got about 72 cake pops from one box.  I coated these with dark chocolate and sprinkles, almonds and almonds with coconut.  A really fun project to do with the kids!  (forgive my lack of photography skills!)

Twine Pom Pom Ball Tutorial

These little twine pom pom balls are so cute!  You can use them on gifts, scrapbooking, cardmaking and a number of other projects!  They are so simple and quick to make too!
All you need is twine, scissors and a fork!  I know, sounds weird, right?
Take your twine and wrap it around the fork 30 times.
Cut another piece of twine a few inches long, and tie it tightly around the middle.
Slide the twine off of the fork and use your scissors to cut down the middle of both ends.
Fluff the twine open and use your scissors again to trim the uneven pieces of twine to create a ball!  Have fun creating!

Notebook Paper Inspiration

I went to Target today and of course the Back To School section was busy with parents and kids getting their school supplies.  I always loved back to school shopping as a kid, finding cool notebooks, pencils and book covers.  Today I still hoard notebooks, pens and sticky notes!  I found some neat notebook paper inspired items on Etsy

Creative Packaging - Card Envelope

I made this card for my sister in law for her birthday, but while making it, I didn't really measure to make it a common card size that I had envelopes for.  So what I did was cut down one of my bigger bitty bags and used the bag as an envelope!  With the bulkiness of the card, this actually worked out perfectly!  I wrapped the bag in twine and stamped a gumball tag, I was really happy with the results!

Stamping on Solid Washi Tape

Most people would see solid washi tape and think "boring".  But solid washi tape is actually my favorite to use.  With an ink pad and a stamp, you can totally make it your own!

Here are a few examples of stamped washi tape that I made using black and red solid washi tape.

Easy Washi Tape Tags

Washi tape is a new embellishment that I love to use!  What is washi tape?  Washi tape is made with washi paper, which is Japanese rice paper.  It has a texture similar to masking tape.  It can easily be torn by hand and is repositional.  I use it in a variety of projects like scrapbooking, cardmaking, gift wrapping and tags.  Here is a simple tag I made using washi tape.

What you need:  a blank tag, an ink pad, a stamp, washi tape, bakers twine, scissors

First, adhere a strip of washi tape to the bottom of the tag.

Stamp your chosen sentiment/design on the tag. I chose to do a to/from tag.

Last, tie baker's twine to the tag.
